Spirits That Destroy-Evil Thoughts

Evil Thoughts, Job 23:13, Proverbs 23:13, Proverbs 23:7,

Philemon 4:7-8, I Timothy 4:15, I Peter 1:13

A. Evil thoughts take in more than just lustful thinking, unclean thinking, etc. Evil thoughts take in evil surmisings, imaginations, devisings, wanton, lasciviousness thoughts, evading responsibility, false witnessing, factless decisions, judging, plotting, vanity, partiality, unbelief, deceit, wickedness in general, any mind activity not brought to the obedience of Jesus Christ as in II Corinthians 15:5.

B. In Philemon 4:8, Paul gives us six things to meditate on...(1) True things, all that's in harmony with eternal truth in creation and revelation. (2) Honest things, all that is chaste and honorable, grace, decent and christian. (3) Just things, all that is in harmony with justice and righteousness. (4) Pure things, all that is chaste and holy for body and soul. (5) Lovely things, all that is pleasind and tends to bless others. (6) Things of good report, all that is in harmony with the best public good, virtuous and praiseworthy.

C. “As a man thinketh...so is he.” Mankind's thoughts decide their destiny. Thoughts determine success or failure in the Christian's daily living. We become what we think about. Each of us must live off the fruits of his/her own thoughts. My present thoughts determine my future. Life is not determined by outward acts or circumstances. Each of us creates his/her own life by our thoughts. Marcus Aurelius said, “Our life is what our thoughts make it.” Emerson said, “ Man is what he thinks.” Jesus Christ said, “ As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” A single thought will neither make or break a life. BUT A HABIT OF THOUGHT WILL. We can not think or let our mind dwell on defeat and be victorious. We can do more for or against ourselves by our thinking than any outside forces can do.

D. The way you think determines how you live. Every good thought contributes it's share to the ultimate result of your life. You will never be any better or higher than your best thoughts. The mind has great power over the body. To consciously think that, “ I can” impels the subconscious faculties into action. LIFE IS FORMED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. WHAT I AM INSIDE DETERMINES THE ISSUES IN THE BATTLE OF LIFE.

1. What does the Bible mean when it says, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. It is saying that a man is bound to follow his thoughts. That's why it's important when we come to the selecting of our thoughts that we are going to allow to dominate our life.

2. The Apostle Paul talks about “ being transformed by the renewing of your mind.” He means that we need to change our thinking...what you're doing isn't working to your benefit. Why? Because thoughts are the transforming power released in our lives. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET YOUR LIFE CHANGED...BY CHANGING YOUR THINKING. THOUGHTS ARE POWER RELEASES. RIGHT OR WRONG, THEY ARE POWER RELEASES. They are bound to shape or mold us and dominate us.

3. You can not become great and think small....neither can you remain small and think great. THOUGHT IS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE OF ALL WEALTH, ALL SUCCESS, ALL MATERIAL GAIN, ALL DISCOVERIES & INVENTIONS, AND OF ALL ACHIEVEMENT. GOOD THOUGHTS MUST BE COUPLED WITH RIGHT METHODS IF WE WOULD ACHIEVE DESIRED RESULTS.

4. People do not realize that it is a law that you become what you dwell upon. Think carnal, you will be carnal. Think spiritual, you will be spiritual, etc. Think evil, you will be evil. Think good, you will be good. Think pure, you will be pure. Think impure, you will be impure. Think negative, you will be negative. Think positive, you will be positive. WHY DO PEOPLE TALK AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THE ONE OR TWO PERCENT THAT IS NOT PERFECT, AND CAN EASILY BE CORRECTED, BUT DO NOT SAY A WORD ABOUT THE NINETY-EIGHT PERCENT THAT IS BEAUTIFUL AND GOOD?
